Grade Level Standard

This is aligned the following California State Standards:

  • W.3.4 - With guidance and support from adults, produce writing in which the development and organization are appropriate to task and purpose. (Grade-specific expectations for writing types are defined in standards 1-3 above.)

Linkage Level Descriptions

Initial Precursor

The student can direct attention to objects or people through intentional sound, verbalization, movement, facial expression, eye gaze, or other behavior.

Distal Precursor

The student can attend to stimuli, including objects, pictures, or multimedia, through visual attention, prolonged stilling, or rhythmic behaviors.

Proximal Precursor

The student can connect two or more words together when writing a text.

Target

The student can express more than one idea when writing about a topic.

Successor

The student can write a complete thought or idea (may be grammatically incorrect) about a topic.
