The student can demonstrate an understanding of object names by correctly identifying an object or person.
The student can make judgments about pairs of words with similar or different meanings.
When given a sentence from the text with a missing word, the student can provide a word from the text or a similar-meaning word to complete the sentence.
When given an unfamiliar word that has only one meaning, the student can use textual and contextual clues in order to determine the word's meaning.
The student can provide more than one meaning, or an atypical meaning, for a multi-meaning word by using contextual and textual clues.
